Bricks and Stones by Nancy Glick

Warsaw bricks on the sidewalk marking the borders of the ghetto
Brick wall without the sharp glass and barbed wire appearing so non threatening , innocent in the drizzling rain
Not revealing the horrors that took place on the other side.

Later, long stones, trees on the left, giving way to trees on the right
Arrived at Treblinka
A stone path, each one with a face
Then jagged rocks, communities, people
Stones on rocks, remembering and honoring
Al Makeh Rachamim
Kaddish
We came, we heard, we will never forget
