Bridging Cultures Through Dialogue: Sharaka Engages Local Students

This past Tuesday, over 70 students from Kate Dankosky’s 10th grade history class, Meagan Lowrey’s gifted students, and Ms. Russo’s English class had a unique opportunity to engage in a thought-provoking discussion with representatives from Sharaka, an organization dedicated to fostering global dialogue and understanding.

Sharaka, which means “partnership” in Arabic, brings together changemakers from different backgrounds to promote peace and collaboration. Their visit provided students with a firsthand look at international perspectives, sparking meaningful conversations about history, culture, and global connections.

The students not only listened attentively but also asked insightful questions, demonstrating a deep curiosity and engagement with the speakers. It was a remarkable experience that broadened their horizons and encouraged critical thinking about the world beyond their classrooms.

We were incredibly fortunate to host Sharaka, and we look forward to more opportunities that connect our students with global voices and perspectives.
