Classrooms Without Borders (CWB), in partnership with The Cure for Hate, is bringing vital anti-hate programming to schools and community spaces across western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and West Virginia.
This collaboration empowers educators and students to address the growing threats of extremism, antisemitism, and hate through innovative in-school and community engagement programs. With support from the TVTP Grant Program, CWB will reach dozens of schools and hundreds of students, equipping them with the tools to confront violence and intolerance in their communities.
At the heart of this initiative is The Cure for Hate, a transformative program built around the journey of Tony McAleer, a former neo-Nazi leader. The program will include screenings of The Cure for Hate documentary, followed by powerful discussions with McAleer and the film’s director, Peter Hutchison.
The program dives deep into the roots of othering, dehumanization, and extremist violence, offering students the opportunity to explore and understand these societal issues. In-school programming will focus on recognizing and resisting hate speech online, while additional workshops will address topics like antisemitism, Holocaust denialism, and online radicalization.
CWB is excited to offer this impactful program in schools and community spaces, helping to foster a generation that stands against hate and promotes unity, respect, and empathy.
