Crossroads of Culture, Heritage and History
In “Ulysses” Alfred, Lord Tennyson said, “I am a part of all that I have met.” Every experience we have a humans shapes us and makes us who we are. I saw Michelangelo’s David for the fourth time today. However, today it held a different meaning for me. Today, the experience of this trip was in my heart. Today, the boy who would be king moved me in a different way.
The Boy Who Would Be King
The boy who would be king
stood determined
before the giant
his enemy Goliath
armed only with a slingshot
the heart of a king
We stand armed with knowledge
Our hearts to guide us
As we take on the giants
of discrimination
intolerance
ignorance
hate
As we are as determined
As the boy who would be king.
