The Auschwitz Album is the only surviving visual evidence of the process leading to the mass murder at Auschwitz-Birkenau. It offers a powerful primary source teaching tool providing visual documentation of the deportation of masses of Jews to the extermination camp. This session, led by Yad Vashem educator Liz Elsby, will explore the story behind the Auschwitz Album, examining what can be seen, as well as what is left out, of the photographs.

Liz Elsby

Liz Elsby has worked at Yad Vashem since 2006 as a Holocaust Educator and museum tour guide. She guides educational groups in Poland, Prague, Terezin and Berlin, as well as teaching about the Holocaust to teachers in the USA through Yad Vashem and Echoes and Reflections.
