June 22 - 30, 2025
Explore Poland’s past and present through daily themes such as a thousand years of Jewish life in Poland, the moral dilemmas of life and death, and the act of bearing witness, with opportunities for personal reflection and soul searching. These themes carry the weight of history and the responsibility of understanding the Holocaust.This seminar is made possible with assistance from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany Supported by the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future and by the German Federal Ministry of Finance
Itinerary
Poland Personally Study Seminar 2025
Saturday, June 21 Scheduled flights departing from the U.S.
Sunday, June 22 Arrive at Warsaw Chopin International Airport and immediately immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of Poland's capital. CWB will host a welcoming dinner at the hotel in the evening, beginning the inspiring days ahead. Overnight: Novotel Warszawa Centrum
Monday, June 23 Explore the poignant history of the Warsaw Ghetto with a guided tour. Then, visit the Emanuel Ringelblum Jewish Historical Institute, where the resilience of the Jewish community comes to life. Later, we will travel to Treblinka for a solemn and reflective visit, a time to honor and remember. Overnight: Novotel Warszawa Centrum
Tuesday, June 24 Set off for Łódź, a city rich in Jewish heritage and cultural landmarks. Visit the historic Łódź Jewish Cemetery and the Radegast Train Station; both are powerful and important reminders of the past. Later, we will lunch at Manufaktura, a vibrant space blending history and modernity. Next, we will tour Izrael Poznański's Palace and finish our day with an insightful tour of the Marek Edelman Dialogue Center and Righteous Among the Nations Park. You will have a free evening and dinner on your own. Overnight: Focus Hotel Lublin
Wednesday, June 25 Our first stop for the day will visit the Grodzka Gate – NN Theatre, with free time afterward exploring the picturesque Old Town. Next, we will continue with a short drive to the Majdanek, the Nazi concentration camp on the outskirts of Lublin. We will continue our journey to Starachowice to hear our survivor Howard Chandler's captivating story and have a special dinner with local officials. Overnight: Hotel Europa
Thursday, June 26 Experience Starachowice through Howard's eyes as he shares his deep personal connection to the town. Howard's unique perspective will add an emotional depth to our journey. We will then continue to Kielce for lunch before heading to Krakow. We will reflect on the day's experiences in a small group setting. Overnight: Qubus Hotel Kraków
Friday, June 27 A profoundly impactful day awaits you as you visit Auschwitz I and Auschwitz Birkenau II with Howard. Following this profound experience, we will engage in meaningful group reflection and conclude the day with a traditional Friday night dinner. Overnight: Qubus Hotel Kraków
Saturday, June 28 Our group will stroll through the rich history of Jewish life for a morning tour of Jewish Krakow and visit the local Jewish Community Center. After the walking tour, we will have lunch at Restaurant Sąsiedzi, a traditional Polish restaurant. Enjoy a free evening and dinner on your own to explore Krakow's enchanting streets. Overnight: Qubus Hotel Kraków
Sunday, June 29 After breakfast, we will visit the underground labyrinth at the Wieliczka Salt Mines, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Later, we will return to Warsaw for a memorable farewell dinner that will celebrate our journey. Overnight: Courtyard Warsaw Airport
Monday, June 30 Depart from Warsaw Chopin International Airport, carrying memories of a transformative and enriching experience.
