We are delighted to congratulate Samuel W. Black on receiving the prestigious Mary McLeod Bethune Service Award!
This honor recognizes his outstanding contributions to African American history, education, and community engagement. Sam, a 2024 recipient of the Davey Award for his article “The Negro Motorist Green Book: Exploring the History of African American Travel, Migration, and Mobility,” continues to be a leading voice in the field.
At CWB, we are proud to have Sam as a lead scholar for our Marching Down Freedom’s Road Civil Rights Seminar in the American South, where participants explore pivotal sites of the Civil Rights Movement. Applications for this transformative program are still open, and we encourage you to join us in learning from Sam’s remarkable expertise.
Congratulations, Sam, on this well-deserved recognition!
