A Special Guest for Yom HaShoah program in Wheeling

You might recall that Anna Wolyniec joined the CWB  study seminar in Poland and told  how her great-grandmother, Maria Zurawska, saved three Jews, including a 5 year-old girl. That little girl became the mother of Amy Lakritz. Today Dr. Amy Lakritz is a pediatrician, who lives with her family in Canton, Ohio.  We were thrilled that she joined us at Temple Shalom, Wheeling for our Yom HaShoah service and program on April 12. Amy brought many pictures to share of Maria, Anna and others, as well as the program and certificate from the ceremony at Yad Vashem. Amy was with her mother, Anna, in Jerusalem when Maria was posthumously recognized as Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem.
