After waking up in the tent and enjoying an abundant of Bedouin breakfast, we left the camp and headed towards Mitzpe Ramon. Mitzpe Ramon is a giant basin formed through millions of years of geologic activities. Home to many wild animals, including porcupines, antelopes, wolves, and different kinds of small rodents, the Mitzpe Ramon attracts tourists from all over the world to visit its beauty.
Here, we learned about the tragic story about Ilan Ramon. He served as an officer in the Israeli Air Force, and later started training as an astronaut at NASA. However, after seven years of rigorous learning and practices, he went to space with six of crews on the Columbus Space Shuttle. On their return to the atmosphere, all seven crews died during the explosion of the shuttle.
In the afternoon, we drove to the Dead Sea, the only place on Earth where you could float on top of the water. The water is so salinated, it tasted bitter and burned at every open wound. We enjoyed the sea, the swimming pool and a great dinner at the restaurant in the hotel.
