CWB SCHOLAR AVI BEN-HUR RETURNS

CWB Director of Education Avi Ben-Hur returns in March to offer Pittsburgh and the new CWB community of Wheeling, West Virginia, a chance to gain a deeper understanding of the countries, histories, and cultures that CWB programming encompasses.

Sunday, March 9, 2 to 3:30 p.m., at the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, Ben-Hur will speak to students of Shady Side Academy, The Ellis School, and Winchester Thurston School. At this meeting of 2014 Poland Study Seminar participants, Ben-Hur will present the lecture Poland and Its Jews: 1919-2014. Ben-Hur will be one of two scholars who will lead the Poland Study Seminar this year.

Also on Sunday, March 9, at 7 p.m., Ben-Hur will address Wheeling, West Virginia, at Central Catholic High School. His lecture that evening, Challenges to Faith and Humanity: Reconciliation Between Jews and Gentiles after WWII, is open to the public.

Tuesday, March 11, noon to 1:30 p.m., Ben-Hur will lecture at the Allegheny Harvard-Yale-Princeton Club. His talk, ‘An update on all of the major archaeological discoveries in the past three years in Israel.’
