It was surreal to wake up this morning and have the Sea of Galilee right in front of me. After another generous breakfast we toured sites along the sea, had lunch, and visited a school. I was very impressed with their robotics projects as well as the initiative the students showed. We had some time to swim in the lake before we went to our home visits for dinner. Up until this point we have been doing everything as a big group. Tonight we went in pairs to the homes of Israeli families. Heather and I were together with the Sapirs. They were so nice and we had great conversations. CWB did a great job matching us up. Nirit is a veterinarian who now teaches gifted middle school students. Her husband is an ornithologist at the university of Haifa. Both animal lovers! (The meal was vegan too!!). It was great to hear more about the Israeli school system and compare and contrast with our two schools in Pittsburgh. We made plans to connect by email to share information.
