Today on the eve of the last day of our trip. We began the day with a fantastic breakfast from the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem. Afterwards we quickly boarded the bus and head out to explore Masada and the Dead Sea. The contrast of a fortress in the mountains and the lowest body of water in the world was surprisingly little yet obviously apparent. Masada is personally moving to me as a Jew and a depressing reminder of our ongoing history of opression from other nations.
The Dead Sea in contrast not only uplifted our physical selves in terms of healing properties but also uplifts the land of Israel economically.
We visited the Israel Museum and were received with a warm reception. We had the opportunity to learn about the art education prrogram in the Youth Wing of the museum along with other well-prepared and informative presentations. All the participants had the opportunity to see the exhibits in the museum through both guided and unguided tours. I was very intersted in the information being given over specifically about art education in Israeli public schools.
