In implementing the “Final Solution,” the Germans and their collaborators tore millions of Jews from their homes and deported them to their deaths, obliterating centuries-old Jewish communities throughout Europe. July marks the 80th anniversary of the Great Deportation from the Warsaw Ghetto, when up to 300,000 Jews were rounded up and brutally deported to the Treblinka Death Camp. We will use this anniversary to discuss the deportation process using short films and primary sources including letters, testimonies and artwork.
Liz Elsby, Yad Vashem educator, will guide us through this session.
