CWB scholar Avi Ben-Hur will take part in the CWB Educator Reunion Tuesday, March 11, at Community Day School, 6424 Forward Ave., in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood. The free event, 5 to 6:30 p.m., will bring together all the teachers from public, private, charter, and Jewish parochial schools who have participated in CWB study seminars in past years. Educators will have the chance to refresh their knowledge of seminar topics and to share the best practices they have developed for bringing Holocaust and Israel studies to their classrooms.
CWB Executive Director Dr. Tsipy Gur will welcome educators. Dr. Michael Naragon, educational consultant for CWB and Social Studies/History Department Chair, Winchester Thurston’s Upper School, will present a brief talk, Memory and Memorials. Scholar Avi Ben-Hur will speak about the changing roles of narrative and the difficulty in preserving a fair and honest historical account.
