Pre Arrival
I was thinking a lot last night. This trip we’re taking, it isn’t just a chance to travel outside the country or experience the camps then do nothing. This trip is a reminder of our Responsibility. On this trip, we are going to see the consequences of mass indifference. We are going to see what happens when the world ignores a problem. It gets so big that it completely devours its victims while the rest of the world looks away and focuses on other matters. By the time the world looks back and sees how big the problem became, it realizes that the ground from which it views the destruction is composed of the remains of the lives it could have saved. I think we all need to ask ourselves if we want to be in the same position as the world was when it realized what it allowed to happen. That realization of destruction is the price of indifference. This trip is a reminder of that. The less we question, observe, and pay attention to the world, the easier it will be for evil to come creeping out of the shadows of man and into the world. Our world.
