CWB Study Seminar scholar Avi Ben-Hur is returning to Pittsburgh to teach and hold an open house. An expert on the Arab-Israeli conflict, the history of Jerusalem and Holocaust studies, Ben-Hur has been the director of the Archaeological Seminars School for Israeli Tour Guides and has taught at Yad Vashem, the IDF educational corps and elsewhere. He will be giving lectures in various area public and private schools and providing professional development opportunities for teacher, on a schedule to be announced.

CWB will hold a community reunion for teens and teachers who participated in Poland Personally: An International Study Seminar. Alumni will present poetry, songs and reflections from their seminars in 2011 and 2012. Location: Urban Pathways Charter School, 914 Penn Avenue, Downtown

Twenty selected Jewish young adults will be sponsored by CWB and Germany Close Up to explore Berlin’s past and present through CWB’s Berlin International Study Seminar. Young adults with community-service experience and active interest in Judaism are invited to apply; the cost of the trip is only $1,300, after the CWB/Germany Close Up subsidy.
