Teens Build Unity Against Hate: Jewish Youth Confront Antisemitism Through Community Dialogue

‘If we don’t tell our story, who will tell it’

Local Jewish teens from diverse Pittsburgh schools gathered at Rodef Shalom Congregation on April 3 to share experiences with antisemitism and build community support. Organized by Ellis School 12th grader Ella Greenfield and sponsored by StandWithUs and Classrooms Without Borders, the event provided a forum for students from Commonwealth Charter Academy, The Ellis School, Hillel Academy, North Allegheny Senior High School and Pittsburgh Allderdice High School to discuss challenges including antagonistic online posts, social isolation, and lack of educator support. The discussion focused on strategies to strengthen Jewish identity and resilience in the face of these ongoing challenges.
