So we’ve just left Thessaloniki and we’re headed west for the day. We have plans to visit the home of Alexander the Great. Take a look at Mandy as she maps out our day.
Thessaloniki is a bustling city nestled on a port by the water. It’s history includes being an area that over the years has been open and inviting to Jewish people. We met a Holocaust survivor last night at dinner, where the people welcomed us into their community. Much of the evening ceremony was spoken in English by the community leaders. The choir sang to us in Ladino, a language spoken by Spanish Jews who came to Greece to avoid capture or death.
