It is 11:40 in Cracow and even though our wake up call is at 3AM, I find I am not the only one awake in our lobby using the wifi connection. Tonight our final gathering was amazing! Our shirts say, “changing lives one trip at a time.” This final dinner brought out more than I could have imagined in showing the reality of that tee shirt statement. The enthusiasm to develop, create, grapple with the ideas buzzing in each of our heads could be felt and so could our love for Howard, his family on the journey-who include Hedy, Mark, and Joelle, Dr. Tzipora Gur, our guides-Avi & Mark, and each other. I really could not go to sleep until I blogged so I include some statements made by participants:”the enthusiasm to learn something here is one thing; going home to do something is another thing. I am optimistic about what can be done,” said one teacher.
The idea of openings and closures said by another teacher also resonates with me as we pack up to return home or to continue to another destination. This journey is ending, however we each have our experience here, plus the new connections forged by discussion, extensive bus travel, bathroom stops, communal breakfasts, and counting off to ensure everyone is accounted for before a departure 😉 The doorway is there, are you ready to cross the threshold to find out where your knowledge can take you? I will close with words by Howard Chandler, who is primarily self taught since he did not get to finish his own schooling when the Nazis invaded Poland, “To me, everyday is a learning day.”
Much love to all from this trip, safe travels, remain open to your experiences, and stay in touch! Poland 2014
