I’m here a few days early in Vienna. A friend wanted to ride the huge Ferris wheel, so we did. Like a ferris wheel, my mind had been going ROUND and ROUND about the places we will visit, the tidbits we will learn along the way.
I am eager for our trip to start. Looking forward to meeting new people who share a similar interest in learning about the Holocaust then taking this learning back to our students.
While studying at Yad Vashem in 2018, I distinctly remembered one of our guest lecturers saying that it was our job to take our students safely in to the study of the Holocaust and to bring them safely out. That has always stuck with me. And so, each new semester when I meet my students, I promise them just that. Safely in. Safely out.
Thank you CWB, for the opportunity to let our minds go ROUND and ROUND with the ways in which we will share this experience with our community, students, friends and family. And of course taking us safely in and safely out.
