Centered on the autobiography of Beba Epstein written in the 1930’s and discovered in 2017. This exhibit draws on hundreds of YIVO’s archival materials. The exhibition explores East European Jewish life in the 20th and 21st centuries through the true story of Beba as a teenage girl. It serves as an excellent resource to learn about the Jewish experience in Eastern Europe pre-World War 2, the Holocaust and post war America tackling universal themes of racism and discrimination. Teaching Resources for this exhibit are available.
