From the Woolworth’s in Greensboro to the immersive experience in Atlanta, I am reminded of the sacrifices made to secure freedom. I accept the responsibility of all Americans to secure this freedom for future generations. I acknowledge the tenacity of the four young men who sat at the counter and the impact they had on freedom for all of us. These experiences inspired the following poem:
